Ruby Alene Grimes, 88, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013.

She was born on June 28, 1925 to Edgar Allen Stafford and Agnes Eason Stafford in Johnston County, NC.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Joseph Junior Grimes. She is survived by four daughters, Wanda Grimes Labozzetta and her husband, Tony, of Chapin, SC, Gloria Grimes Boyles of Columbia, SC, Patricia Grimes Sandlin and her husband, Chris, of Roanoke Rapids, and Nancy Grimes Adkins of Smithfield, NC; two sons, Kenneth I. Grimes and wife, Beverly, of South Haven, MS, and William O. Grimes and wife, Bettie, of Murfreesboro, NC; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Smith United Methodist Church and served with her husband in Methodist ministries for 37 years.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Smith United Methodist Church with Reverend Tom Schwartz officiating.

The family will receive friends at Smith United Methodist Church from 1:00 p.m. until service time on August 21, 2013.
